DRY ROT - WOOD DECAYING FUNGUS

“Dry rot,” is the decay of wood that is dead.  If your home is made with dead wood, what will dead wood do? ...It will ROT!  Dry Rot is caused by the attack of any number of fungi species, Poria incrassata, Merulius lacrymans, Coniophora cerebella, to name a few.  Other more common names are brown rot, soft rot, and white rot.  Fungus begins to grow on the surface of the wood and then begins to penetrate deeper and deeper, consuming the cellulose from the wood, leaving the wood "dry" and brittle

DRY ROT - WOOD DECAYING FUNGUS

What is Dry Rot?

“Dry rot,” is the decay of wood that is dead.  If your home is made with dead wood, what will dead wood do? ...It will ROT!

Dry Rot is caused by the attack of any number of fungi species, Poria incrassata, Merulius lacrymans, Coniophora cerebella, to name a few.  Other more common names are brown rot, soft rot, and white rot.  Fungus begins to grow on the surface of the wood and then begins to penetrate deeper and deeper, consuming the cellulose from the wood, leaving the wood "dry" and brittle.

BROWN ROT & SOFT ROT

Most commonly recognized by the checked pattern in the wood, Brown Rot causes the wood to shrink and crumble into little squares.

WHITE ROT

Wood will feel damp, soft, spongy, or have strings on it.

It will appear as white or yellow.

STOP DRY ROT NOW!

As the spores of fungi go airborne, they attract Termites, Wood Beetles, and Carpenter Ants.  The solution to prevent infestations of Wood destroying insects, is to have All Green Termite & Pest Control apply its natural, permanent wood preservative.  It is the best way to stop dry rot fungus destruction.  Call today for a FREE Dry Rot Inspction!
